Love Deceit and The Fall of Empire

Love Deceit and The Fall of Empire take place in a dystopian future envisioned by the Project 2025 plan. The United States is ravaged by storms and coastal flooding caused by ignoring climate change. Most West Coast states and New England States have succeeded, and what remains is a rump section that includes the Bible Belt and some of the central states. The story takes place in Tallahassee, a city trying to hold back constant hurricanes and the steady encroachment of the Gulf Waters.

The segregated, extremist Religious Nationalist oligarchy is slowly eroding from within due to isolation and rampant corruption. In this segregated society, an impoverished mass is controlled by a Christian Nationalist elite, and a young Latino falls in love with a white Evangelical girl. They are drawn into the simmering conflict between the rich and the poor.  Revolts are suppressed, and government corruption is exposed, including a terrible genocidal plan.

The impending coastal flooding, the sacrifice of some people, and the love between two young people culminate in a final conflict that brings together the rich and the poor, creating hope for a better world.

SULI Daniel Johnson SBN is an author of speculative fiction, science fiction, magical realism, and wonder. He specializes in the mind and alternate views of reality.

He is a Taoist Master who spent twelve years in a temple overcoming dyslexia. The experience put him in tune with his mind at a fundamental level and broadened his perspective significantly.
